‘Nine Forces’ against high blood pressure

One of the very popular medicinal plants in herbal medicine is Elecampane. That is due to its healing, nearly miraculous properties. It grows widely in many regions of Russia and throughout Europe as well.

Elecampane plant has its Russian name: ‘Devyasil’. That translates from the Russian language as ‘Nine Forces’ where ‘devyat’ is Nine, and ‘sila’ stands for the Force. In the traditional folk medicine Devyasil has been considered as a remedy ‘against nine ailments’.

Devyasil is useful in treating various conditions – from high blood pressure to improving appetite and digestion, regulates secretory function of the stomach and intestines and stimulates metabolism.

This a recipe that has been effectively used for treating high blood pressure for centuries.

To prepare such a medicinal tincture one would need the following ingredients:

  • 80 g of Devyasil’s root
  • 50g of untreated oats and
  • 30 g of honey.

How to make it:

  • First you rinse oats, cover it with 5 litres of water and bring it to boil. Then leave it for 4 hours to cool.
  • Next pour that mixture over the Devyasil’s roots, bring it to boil and leave for 2 hours. Then add honey.

How to take it:

Take 1/3 of a glass 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks.

That tincture keep your arterial pressure normal, strengthen your heart muscle and regulate the cholesterol level.

As we touched here on natural medicine for high blood pressure we can use some other natural ingredients in a form of various tinctures and potions.

For example, another herbal tincture could be recommended as a very effective remedy for keeping your blood pressure in normal brackets:

To prepare such a medicinal tincture one would need the following ingredients:

  • 1 table spoon of Camomile
  • 1 table spoon of Immortelle
  • 1 table spoon of St. John’s Wart
  • 1 table spoon of wild strawberry leaves
  • 1table spoon of birch tree buds

How to make it:

Mix the herbs together. Then take a portion, like 1-2 table spoons of the mixture, pour over with boiling water, cover it and let it stay for 2 hours.

How to take it:

Take it as 30-50 ml 2-3 times a day.

And here is another herbal tincture, for which you would need only 2 ingredients: dry camomile flowers and dry St. John’s Wart herb.

Mix those 2 herbs in equal amount, say 100 g each, pour boiled water over the mixture – not much, like about one glass, and let it brew for 2 hours.

Take it 30-50 ml 2-3 times a day. This tincture has an important advantage as it has no contra-indications and can be used t any age.

Watermelon against hypertension

Next goes a unique fruit – a watermelon. The watermelon does not just remove excessive fluids from your body, but also is cleansing kidneys and decreasing cholesterol and, therefore, effectively fights hypertension – high blood pressure.

To use it as medicine you have to take the watermelon’s skin and seeds, dry them out, grate and take one tablespoon twice a day.

That means don’t throw the watermelon skin and seeds as they could become your natural medicinal remedy.

What other home remedies could be good for keeping your blood pressure from elevation?

  • Beetroot: Mix beetroot juice with honey, and use it during the day in small portions.
  • Aloe juice: It has many medicinal properties, for both external and internal use. To use it for controlling your blood pressure delute one teaspoon of Aloe juice in 50ml of water and take it on empty stomach .
  • Brew a tea with mint or peppermint leaves. Drink it and also rub it into your neck. The aromatherpy effect could be felt while placing peppermint oil or sprigs of mint around the house.
