Sugarholics, hello! Let’s do something about it.

That is one of the topics for which I am trying, so far in vain, to find an answer.  The tremendous resistance to the health-wise changes when it comes to losing our sweet addictions. We suddenly behave like naughty kids in a candy store.

– Give me my Chupa Chups, otherwise I will fall into tantrum in the middle of this place and embarrass you!

And that could be applied to many of our addictions, habits and denials. Smokers all know how smoking is bad for them, right? Alcoholics are aware that their liver suffers from the liquor consumption to the degree that it shortens their life.

Is there any new in telling you how bad refine sugar is for our overall well being? Is there anyone who never heard about it? I really doubt it.

Of course we heard, we know, we perfectly aware. However, the result of that knowing, hearing or being aware is that we cannot ditch our bad habits, regardless of what we know, what we were told by scientists, by your dentist and doctor, by people on TV.

What I wish to do now is just to reinforce those message with a tiny hope it will sink into our brain and perform miracle. By the miracle I mean we decide to implement changes that could help to prolong our life and support our health for many years ahead.

According to http://dailyorganicrecipes.com/, excessive consumption of sugar increases the levels of dopamine much the same as other drugs like cocaine, according to one study from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

The researchers state that long-term utilization of sugar will eventually prompt a reduction of dopamine levels. Hence, in order to avoid lenient states of depression and reach the same results, people need to consume even more sugar than usual, scientists explain.

If you can’t seem to resists that lovely smell of the chocolate cake, you are most likely a sugar addict.

Here are the most important reasons as to why you should be distinct from sugar in spite of everything:

  • Has no nutrition value whatsoever
  • It’s very addictive
  • Increases the serotonin levels
  • May engender gallstones
  • Subdues the immunity
  • Triggers adrenal fatigue
  • Produces ulcers
  • Weakens the eyesight
  • Prompts hypoglycaemia
  • Can cause arthritis
  • Causes premature aging
  • Depletes the minerals from the body
  • Raises the risks of diabetes

That is a serious stuff, a credible warning for those of us who wants to stay younger, for longer.

Just give it a think and do it gradually. Be especially aware of hidden sugars lurking in so many processed products. Learn to read a content of the product before buying it.

There are at least 61 different names for sugar listed on food labels. These include common names, such as sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup, as well as barley malt, dextrose, maltose and rice syrup, among others.

Educate yourself about words that manufacturers use for their cover-up.
